Due to the office set up, appointments are required and can be made by calling in to the office or requesting an appointment slot by clicking one of the buttons below.
It is suggested that an appointment be made for drop offs to ensure that we have a few minutes to review the provided documents and ask necessary questions prior to embarking on the tax preparation steps. However, if a last minute drop off is desired, please be sure to call the office at 203-283-9204 or text us at 203-693-9726 to alert us that a drop off was made in order that we can confirm receipt and schedule a pickup.
Depending on the complexity of your return, the time to execute the return will vary. More than 50% of our clients utilize our convenient drop off service so that they do not have to wait for us to complete the return. Especially important in this COVID environment, we offer the convenience of either a physical drop off of materials OR an electronic vault submission. Please simply talk with us when scheduling your appointment to determine which will be easiest for your needs.
Every client can receive a free physical portfolio of their tax return with their supporting documents. However, as many of our clients are choosing to move towards paperless filing, we now offer a free electronic copy of your return accessible within the Valerio Tax Edge Vault. Should you desire the electronic conversion of paper supporting documents, we can make this available for a $45 processing fee. Please simply let the team know you would like this option prior to your appointment. Your tax returns are available via your personal vault moving forward free of charge. Given this free option and the hopes to save a few trees, please note that should an additional paper copy of your return be needed there is a $35 processing fee per return plus an additional $25 for supporting documents.
All payments are expected at the time of tax preparation completion and we reserve the right to delay transmission until payment is completed. For your convenience; we accept cash, check debit or credit card.
We aim to get taxes prepared within 72 hours of drop off when preparation tax slots are reserved but this varies based on time of the season and completeness of materials provided. We generally find a mutually convenient time for a pick up appointment to review the tax return at the time you call to schedule your drop off. Please note due to COVID precautions, there is a 3 day "quarantine" of physically dropped off documents before starting return processing for the safety of the team.
It is required that a signature for each person is collected and maintained for our records. Except in extraneous circumstances, powers of attorney are not accepted. The easiest way to have the appropriate signatures is having all related parties present. However, in circumstances when this is not viable, we are able to securely transmit the tax document in our tax vault, so a related party can easily electronically sign OR download the document, sign and submit their signature. Submission can be as simple as an image of their signed document uploaded or even a picture texted into us at 203-693-9726 . Note, that for your identity theft protection, all signers are required to either be physically present OR available for a video conference in the first tax preparation year.
